Review

“[ Words Their Way] provides a major contribution to the field. It is superb for preparing teachers at the pre-service level and also supporting teachers at the in-service level.. Teachers will find the sorts very useful and can use them for whole class instruction, small group guided reading, differentiation, stations, and for one-on-one purposes.”
– Dr. Vassiliki Zygouris-Coe, University of Central Florida

“The outline of the spelling stages--the descriptions and examples of the writing samples – help the readers understand the stage and expectations of students at that particular level. [Strengths include]... The different kinds of sorts and information about English Learners throughout the text.”
– Dr. Stephanie Wessels, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

“I really like the examples it gives of activities for each type of speller. They are laid out for the reader/teacher and make it easier to implement... ”
– Keely Cahalane, Great Oak Elementary School

It is such a hassle to have to return an item simply because the description was incorrect! I can see that several other buyers had this same problem, so I read the description carefully. I was supposed to get the code to access the digital website that includes spelling inventories, 130+ interactive word sorts, 40+ word study games, and the ability to monitor student progress. The book I received does not include the code. The book itself looks great! I think it would be a great way to do spelling with my 2 dyslexic and one gifted kiddos.

My class is just now starting for which I ordered this book in advance, and there was no online access code as is usually included with brand new textbooks. Because I only just realized this, it''s now too late to get a replacement or refund. Be sure you go ahead and check for your online access code.

Otherwise, this book is a great resource. Just wish I could access the online materials.

I received my book without the WTW Toolkit Access Codes, even though they claim the book is new. I am currently having to purchase it directly from the publisher, who stated you should have received it with your original new purchase. I am extremely disappointed by this and have attached a photo of where my kit should have been in my "new" purchase.
